‘Live’ Kelly Ripa Sad Over Loss Of Beloved Crew Member
People who work on Live with Kelly and Mark seem to have found a good career because some of them stay for decades, and now a beloved crew member is leaving. Read on to find out more about the sad news from the ABC morning talk show.
Live With Kelly And Mark Had Different Editions
While the show brought the weather, daily snippets of the news, and lifestyle tips since the 1980s, the faces of the hosts changed. When it first aired in New York, it was Host Regis Philbin and Co-host Cyndy Garvey on the morning screen. Later, Regis was joined by Kathie Lee Gifford. Regis departed in 2011 after 23 years with the show. Kelly Ripa joined him in November 2000 and she’s in her 24th year on the ABC show.
Mark Consuelos joined Kelly Ripa on Live with Kelly and Mark in 2023, but before that, she hosted the show with Michael Strahan and Ryan Seacrest.
Ryan Seacrest moved on and he will replace Pat Sajak on Wheel of Fortune. Now, another beloved crew member is leaving, Kelly seems a bit down. Actually, it sounds as if the entire company will miss Art Moore.
Live Kelly Paid Tribute To Art Moore
Wednesday’s show brought Art Moore as a special guest, and Kelly Ripa gave a heartfelt tribute which you can see further down in this article. Meanwhile, Variety reported about the achievements of Art who leaves in September, If you don’t know, the executive producer worked with “ABC for 53 years” and retires as the WABC-TV New York Vice president of programming.
Art is seldom seen on the show, but he’s the oil that kept the machine churning on the set for decades. Kelly Ripa said in her tribute on YouTube and Instagram, “You’re the most special, devoted, loyal, extraordinary person I’ve ever met in my life.”
The outlet cited “Debra OConnell, president, News Group and Networks, Disney Entertainment.” She said that apart from his association with Live with Kelly and Mark, Art will “be missed.” Debra added:
Art Moore is simply the best of the best. His creativity, ability to handle any production challenge and keen sense of what the audience wants is unparalleled in daytime television…
When the team heard about Art Moore’s retirement it’s doubtful that Kelly Ripa was the only sad face at ABC. “Marilu Galvez, president and GM of WABC,” told everyone about the departure of the beloved crew member. In part, she said:
To say that Art is a much-loved member of the WABC family is just barely scratching the surface of his impact on my leadership team, the station and the industry overall. Art has been part of our ABC family for a remarkable 53 years…As our head of programming, he has had a role in countless series and specials that have helped shape WABC’s identity and our enduring relationship with viewers.
