‘Live’s Kelly Ripa And Mark Consuelos Recall How A “Harmless Ghost” Has Haunted Their Long Island Home In The Past: “Isn’t That Crazy?”

Spooky season was in full swing this morning on Live with Kelly and Mark.

After diving into a survey about “how many homeowners think their houses are haunted,” Mark Consuelos teased that “there could be a presence” at their place on Long Island, though Kelly Ripa insisted that it’s “a harmless presence.”

“We have a harmless ghost,” she added, prompting Consuelos to call it “a rascal.”

Ripa recalled Consuelos’ mother being “the first one to alert” them of the alleged ghost, explaining that “she has decided he’s a little boy.”

“But he means us no harm,” she clarified. “But he did push her down from behind. Do you remember? He pushed her down from behind, and I was like, ‘Maybe you just fell.’ She was like, ‘No, Kelly, no.’”

Consuelos then remembered another goofy ghostly instance when their daughter Lola was about seven or eight years old.

“Her room is right next to where my parents were sleeping in the guest room,” he shared, “and she went in. I guess she was scared. She went into my mom and dad’s room, and then my mom got scared.”

Ripa chimed in, “Your mom thought Lola was a ghost!”

Consuelos continued, “And so she screamed, and then Lola screamed.”

Ripa added, “Then Lola started crying, then your mom started screaming more.”

While Consuelos claimed that their “little ghost” has “been there for years,” he brought up the “most eerie” story involving their youngest son, Joaquin.

“We were talking about it when the kids came home for Thanksgiving,” he said, “and Joaquin was like, ‘There’s no ghost.’ The next morning I see him at breakfast, and he’s staring at me. He’s like, ‘Did you turn all the figurine heads?’”

Ripa jumped in, “No, he goes, ‘Nice try. Nice try scaring me.’”

She proceeded to explain that Joaquin had a collection of Star Wars figurines.

“He’s like, ‘I know you turned all the action figures in the other direction to face the wall,’” Ripa remembered him telling them. “I at first thought Mark did do that, because that is something you would do, and I was excited. I was like, ‘Good for you.’”

However, Consuelos said he “didn’t do that,” and that in fact, “nobody did it.”

“They’re trying to get me to laugh to admit that I did it, and I’m like, ‘I didn’t do it,’” he elaborated. “I wish I would have thought of it, but I didn’t do it.”

The two explained that their son went to bed that night and felt “a cold chill” come over him, and then felt a bang on the bed.

“He turns on the lights, and there’s nothing there,” Ripa added. “And then he feels this again, with the lights on. He ran up the stairs, he ran into everybody’s room like, ‘There’s a ghost in my room.’ Isn’t that crazy?”
