Mark Consuelos Pokes Fun At 18-Year-Olds Who Are “Too Old” For Trick-Or-Treating On ‘Live’: “Don’t You Have A Part-Time Job To Be Late At?”

Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa stuck it to demanding trick or treaters on Live with Kelly and Mark on Monday.

Ripa revisited a survey that revealed that Halloween “is not just for kids,” suggesting a trend that has been coined “Adultoween.”

“Sixty-nine percent of adults say they plan to buy candy this year, and they’re not going to give it out,” she shared. “They’re buying Halloween candy simply to eat Halloween candy, which we used to just call ‘buying candy.’”

She also read that “67% of adults with children in their household say they plan to buy extra candy just in case they run out and there’s none left over for them,” to which Consuelos insisted, “That’s you.”

“Not for us, but you always buy extra because we run out,” he clarified.

Ripa agreed that they always “run out” of candy at their house, noting that “the one time [they] had extra candy was during the pandemic.”

“I brought it in here to work, where everybody else brought in their extra Halloween candy, and now we’re still eating it five years later,” she teased.

Consuelos highlighted that they sometimes leave the extra candy at their front door, where “the stragglers grab it.”

Ripa said, “That’s what happens because we get exhausted, and then it’s like dinner time and we don’t want anybody else ringing the doorbell. So we just put it all outside.”

While Ripa claimed she doesn’t know “what happens to it,” she eventually concluded that she “do[es]n’t really care.”

“At that point, I have been beaten down by the children of Manhattan,” she quipped. “I really have. You know, the amount of kids that come with a list of demands.”

Consuelos joked, “‘I don’t like Kit Kat!’ I don’t care!”

After Ripa asked “who doesn’t like Kit Kat?” she joined in on imitating the demanding trick-or-treaters.

“‘I want Skittles.’ I don’t care!” she exclaimed. “We’re out of Skittles. How about trick-or-treat? How about that? Give me a little show. What are you supposed to be? You’re supposed to tell me what you are. What are you? I can’t tell what this is. What are you supposed to be?”

Consuelos chimed in, “I know what you are. You’re 18 and too old to be doing this. Don’t you have a part-time job to be late at?”

Ripa conceded that they do “give the parents candy,” though she said “you can tell they’d rather [them] give them wine.”
