Kelly Ripa Teases That ‘Live’ Is “Finally Moving To A New Location”
Live with Kelly and Mark is getting a new home!
On Tuesday’s episode, Kelly Ripa shared that she Mark Consuelos had previously “went down to tour the new studios,” teasing that the show “is finally moving to a new location.”
“But that’s not going to happen for some time, and I still don’t believe it’s going to happen,” she added.
Consuelos assured his wife and co-host that “it’s happening” and that “this place has been sold.” Nonetheless, Ripa quipped that “this place has been sold for 10 years,” though Consuelos claimed that “it’s time to get out.”
Ripa explained, “Anyway, I don’t believe it’s happening. But anyway, we’re moving down to this fancy schmancy state of the art studio in SoHo.”
Consuelos looked off-camera and added, “In the spring.”
Ripa mused, “SoHo, where we used to live, and this would have been convenient for us. But as soon as we move to the Upper East Side, now we want to move to SoHo. OK, whatever. I digress.”
She told viewers that “the entire staff” took the subway downtown to also visit the new studio, including the show’s talent booker Kelly Burkhard, whom she said “apparently has never taken the subway before.”
Live‘s EP Michael Gelman chimed in that Burkhard “doesn’t have ApplePay, so she didn’t know how to pay for the subway.”
Eager to know how Burkhard’s inaugural subway trip went, Ripa asked for details, prompting Gelman to note that she was “calmer than [he] thought.”
Ripa joked, “Do you think she took, like, a pot gummy or something?”
Gelman replied, “Hopefully not at work.”
Similarly, ABC’s The View relocated to a new studio in downtown Manhattan for Season 28, which kicked off on Sept. 3.
Live with Kelly and Mark airs on weekdays. Head over to their website for your local listings. Check out DECIDER’s visit to the Live‘s current Upper West Side studio in September.
