Kelly Ripa Makes a Bold Claim About Husband Mark Consuelos’ Physical Appearance: “looks like a Rottweiler”
The talk show host made a surprising comparison between her spouse and a certain animal.
Regular viewers of Live With Kelly & Mark know that Kelly Ripa loves to put her husband and co-host, Mark Consuelos, in his place—but she always does it with a sense of humor.
During a round of the show’s “Stump Mark” segment on Friday, Sept. 6, Ripa even went so far as to compare her spouse’s appearance to an unlikely animal, per Decider.
Consuelos was doing his best to guess which statement by contestant Mary Maurer was true—either “I taught second grade for 33 years” or “I’ve been a dog trainer for 33 years”—when he asked Maurer what her “favorite kind of dog to train” was. Maurer’s answer was “a Rottweiler” because “they’re big, but they’re very intelligent.”
“I always think that Mark looks like a Rottweiler,” Ripa interjected. “Like, if a Rottweiler turned into a human being. Don’t you think, Mar?”
“Yeah, I guess,” Maurer agreed.
“You know I’m right,” Ripa said, doubling down on her claim. “Now that you see it, you can’t unsee it.”

Even Consuelos didn’t disagree with his wife’s assessment, as he listed the characteristics he thinks he has in common with the breed.
“And they’re loyal…That’s right. And they’re smart. And they like their bellies rubbed,” he offered.
He then guessed which of Maurer’s statements was actually true—but apparently, his Rottweiler powers don’t include detective skills.
“Here’s what I think, Mary. I think you and I have a connection,” he said. “I think you and I are connected because when you see me, you think I look like Randy the Rottweiler. And I think you’ve been a dog trainer for 33 years.”
Alas, it turned out Maurer was a longtime second grade teacher, but Consuelos didn’t let her go without getting one last joke in.
“I just peed on your lawn,” he said.
