Mark Consuelos knew just how to help Kelly Ripa when things got antsy.

As the co-host couple fleshed out why “lying on the ground feels so good” on Live with Kelly and Mark on Friday, Consuelos gushed about lying in grass, which Ripa couldn’t agree with. She name dropped “ticks, worms, [and] snakes” as creatures that may befall you, before both she and Consuelos calling out “ants” as another.

“I stood in an ant nest when we were on vacation, and I won’t do that again,” Ripa recalled.

The two clarified that “they were fire ants,” prompting Consuelos to ask Ripa if the ants left “any marks.”

Ripa replied, “Yeah, you were there. You know.”

She then proceeded to reveal how Consuelos came to the rescue.

“Mark actually ripped my pants off. Yeah. You’re welcome, everyone,” she quipped. “Mark ripped my pants off.”

Consuelos explained that Ripa was “wearing sweats and [the ants] crawled up,” as Ripa noted that she was “taking pictures of [their] dogs on vacation.”

“Because that’s what you do when your children grow up. You start photographing your dogs,” she teased.

Consuelos noted that fire ants are “really, really fast.” He continued to read aloud that “although there isn’t a body of research that extols the benefits of lying on the ground, psychologists say spending time on the floor is unlikely to hurt, and can even help us feel grounded.”

“I like it. I always feel like my neck — the back of my head is a little flat, so, you know, it kinda hurts to lay on the floor,” he added.

Ripa then felt the back of Consuelos’ head, confirming that it is in fact a little flat.

“You gotta talk to my mom about that,” Consuelos joked.

After Ripa said “that’s weird,” Consuelos felt Ripa’s head, which they both agreed is “very round.”

“You have a nice crown,” he told Ripa, to which she thanked him.

“My lovely lady lumps. It’s all up here,” she quipped. “Nowhere else. That’s all I have is my lumpy head.”
