Kelly Ripa admits to ‘inappropriate’ backstage behavior with Mark Consuelos that ‘could have got her fired’
Kelly Ripa has made a raunchy confession about some backstage behaviour with her husband, Mark Consuelos.
The actor and TV host opened up about some behaviour which she described as ‘inappropriate’ for the workplace.
In fact, she revealed that it was so bad that she thinks if the pair hadn’t been married it could have seen her fired over inappropriate conduct.
On Thursday’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Kelly opened up about their backstage antics, and it’s fair to say that things got more than a little heated when the cameras weren’t on.
The pair have been married for 28 years, but the passion is clearly still very much alive.
Kelly recalled the story to the audience, teasing about the pair’s backstage antics.
Right at the beginning of the program she said: “I’ve got to tell you something. I did something backstage that was so inappropriate that, if we weren’t married, I would probably be fired right now.”
That’s certainly one way to open a show, and Kelly continued by explaining that she had admired her husband’s shirt.
She continued, seemingly for the benefit of the crew, saying: “But, I have to explain myself. I started at the [shirt], and I was like, ‘I really love this shirt, I think it’s gorgeous on you’.
“And he goes, ‘Oh, thank you.’ And he goes, ‘Feel these pants. These pants are really comfy’.”
The host went on to describe how she had then felt her husband’s pants, saying that they felt ‘nice’.
She continued: “But, I was like, ‘My gosh, your thighs feel like they are made out of metal or stone.’ Marble! Carved out of marble.
“I’m backstage rubbing up and down his thighs, like, it doesn’t even seem possible. I realize people are looking at us like, ‘are you okay? Do you forget that you’re in a place of business?’ And, yes is the answer!”
Her husband of 28 years laughed, and joked that he ‘may or may not file a grievance’.
Ripa replied: “Yeah, I mean, I don’t blame you. It’s so inappropriate, but, congratulations on your thighs!”
The pair, both 53, married in 1996 and have three children together.
After meeting on the set of All My Children in 1995, the pair clearly felt the spark straight away as they eloped to Vegas.
Ripa revealed that they spent $179 on their elopement, including air fare.
Reflecting on the elopement, she said: “It really is such an efficient way to get married. And it was fun. We were like, ‘Now, this is gambling! Woohoo!'”
And no, the wedding was not carried out by an Elvis impersonator.
