This morning’s Live with Kelly and Mark got a bit cheeky, right from the start.
Kelly Ripa began Thursday’s episode by revealing some “inappropriate” backstage antics involving her husband and co-host, Mark Consuelos.
I gotta tell you something,
I did something backstage to Mark that was so inappropriate that if we weren’t married, I would probably be fired right now. But I have to explain myself.
Ripa narrated how she started gently touching his shoulder, admiring his shirt, and then the conversation led to feeling his pants, complimenting their comfort.
I was like, ‘My gosh! Your thighs feel like they are made out of, like, metal. Or like, stone, or marble. Like, carved out of marble,’
Ripa shared as she reenacted rubbing his thighs. It became evident that people around them found it amusing yet questionable if such behavior was appropriate for a work environment.
Consuelos humorously mentioned he “may or may not file a grievance.”
A flashback to when they first met at Robin Mattson’s cocktail party during their All My Children days had Ripa making similar remarks about Consuelos’ muscular legs.
Their rapport, dating back to their roles as Hayley Vaughan and Mateo Santos on the soap opera ‘All My Children,’ has always been lively. The playful banter included Kelly reminding everyone of how Consuelos’ soccer past, which Mark cited as contributing to his robust physique.
The episode not only entertained but also offered glimpses into their personal dynamics and humor-filled bond—showcasing the couple’s chemistry that has been vibrant since they got married in 1996 after eloping in Las Vegas.
