Talk show host Kelly Ripa is under fire for being rude to Bachelorette Jenn Tran.
Talk show host Kelly Ripa is under fire for being rude to Bachelorette Jenn Tran, but according to Arie Luyendyk Jr., the behavior is a pattern.
Bachelor Nation Star Calls Out Kelly Ripa For Jenn Tran Interview
Jenn Tran appeared on Live With Kelly & Mark last week to promote her season of The Bachelorette. But a tense exchange with Kelly Ripa had Bachelor Nation fans and at least one alum seething.
Kelly Ripa met her husband, Mark Consuelos, when they were both on All My Children. In fact, their characters – Hayley and Mateo – were one of the show’s most popular couples. The former soap star seemed to bristle when Jenn Tran pointed out that she also hopes to meet her husband on television.
“Those are not the same. We were both professional,” Kelly Ripa responded to the comparison. While sources close to the show claimed the interaction between Jenn and Kelly was in good fun, Bachelor In Paradise alum Ashley Iaconetti didn’t appreciate it. She claimed that Kelly Ripa seems to have an “ax to grind” with the franchise. And she’s not the only alum who thinks that way.
Arie Luyendyk Jr. Recalls Negative Experience With Morning Talk Show Host
Arie Luyendyk Jr. had one of the most controversial Bachelor seasons in the history of the dating show. He infamously dumped Becca Kufrin shortly after proposing to her because he still had feelings for his runner-up, Lauren Burnham.
After breaking up with Becca on camera, Arie proposed to Lauren during the live After The Final Rose special. The two have been married since 2019. Things worked out for Becca too – she married Thomas Jacobs after meeting him on Season 7 of Bachelor In Paradise.
However, at the time of the scandalous finale, Arie Luyendyk Jr. was public enemy number one. He weighed in on the situation between Kelly Ripa and Jenn Tran.
The former Bachelor dropped a telling comment on one of Us Weekly‘s Instagram posts about the latest controversy.
“I was always a fan of hers until I was the bachelor. Felt I had my back against the wall whenever I was being interviewed by her.”
He didn’t elaborate on which interview he was referring to.
However, several Bachelor Nation fans pointed out that Kelly Ripa has always seemed to have a dislike for the dating show and allegedly acted unprofessionally during interviews.
