Bad Axe featured on ABC’s ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’ Friday

The city of Bad Axe received a shoutout on Friday’s episode of ABC’s “Live with Kelly and Mark.”

Live host Kelly Ripa was mentioning small towns she had wanted to visit on an RV trip during the show’s opening host chat, and she and co-host Mark Consuelos were discussing different towns.

“I want to go to these towns, these towns have the strangest names,” Ripa said. “Because I think that would be a fun trip. These are some good ones, some really good, strange names. Ready? Hopefully, some of you are from these places.”

She first mentioned Accident, Maryland, a town of approximately 244 people. She then followed with one more familiar to those of us in the Thumb.

“Bad Axe, Michigan,” Ripa said.

“Bad Axe?” Consuelos responded.

“Bad Axe,” Ripa repeated. “Like, that’s where I want to go to get into a fight. Right?”

“I like it,” Consuelos said.

“Also a tiny town,” Ripa continued. “Population, 2,900 people.”

Ripa also mentioned the towns of Bald Knob, Arkansas; Boring, Oregon; Embarrass, Wisconsin; Normal, Illinois and other towns in the chat.

Friday’s show also featured Journalist Anderson Cooper, Nikki and Brie Garcia, the Harlem Globetrotters, and Phillip Phillips.
