‘Criminal Minds: Evolution’ Season 2 Trailer: It Takes a Killer to Catch a Killer

“Criminal Minds: Evolution” is returning to Paramount+, and a new trailer has been released.

Season 2 of “Criminal Minds: Evolution” is set to release the first two episodes on June 6 with eight more episodes dropping weekly afterwards.

The official logline of the series reads, “In the wake of last season’s shocking finale, the upcoming all-new season of ‘Criminal Minds: Evolution’ picks up as the FBI’s elite team of profilers investigates the deadly mystery of Gold Star. As the conspiracy unfolds, the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) is met with an unexpected complication when serial killer Elias Voit negotiates a deal that transfers him to federal custody in the BAU’s own backyard. The team faces its biggest threat yet and cannot emerge unscathed from the mind-bending consequences.”

“With the show under the direction of showrunner Erica Messer, an OG producer who also worked on the short-lived spinoff ‘Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.’ But the step forward is in the plotting, which is designed to make ‘Evolution’ a more serialized serial killer procedural,” Joshua Alston wrote in a review for Season 1 at Variety. Rather than juggle a season-long Big Bad with mostly contained monster-of-the-week stories, ‘Evolution’ braids the two together, lending the show a new momentum and cohesiveness that it’s only hinted at before. With each killer the team neutralizes, they get closer to their bigger target.
