‘Blood, Sweat and Tears’: 9-1-1: Lone Star Cast Reacts to Cancelation Concerns

The future is looking bleak for 9-1-1: Lone Star. It was recently revealed that series star Sierra McClain will not return as a regular for Season 5, and it was reported that the show is expected to end following her exit.

However, as of this time, the series hasn’t been officially canceled just yet. Even so, the news has gotten the attention of the actors from the show. Rafael Silva (Carlos Reyes) has offered a reaction with a post on Instagram Stories (per TVLine). The actor simply wrote, “Wherever the ship sails, [I’m] grateful for the family I’ve created on this show.” Ronen Rubinstein (T.K. Strand) similarly took to his Instagram Stories to add a response, reiterating that the show hasn’t been axed for the time being.

“Nowhere in that article stated a certain fate for our show,” Rubinstein said. “But one thing I do know for certain is we will continue pouring our blood, sweat and tears into these last few episodes and deliver to you our most special season yet. I better see all of you in September. [Best fans in the world] Unite! I love y’all so f***in much!”

A spinoff of 9-1-1, the series was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear. Other cast members include Rob Lowe, Jim Parrack, Natacha Karam, Brian Michael Smith, Julian Works, Gina Torres, Brianna Baker, Kelsey Yates, and Skyler Yates. The series first debuted in 2020.

‘I’m just really excited about the spectacle,” Lowe teased about the upcoming fifth season in a TV Insider interview. “I’m really excited about the scope and scale of what we’re able to do while also still taking care of the characters everybody loves.”

Rob Lowe Teases a Train Derailment Storyline

He further teased about a three-episode train derailment storyline in the season, “Well, just the scale and spectacle of the train derailment and the arduousness of shooting it. I mean, I love it. I find it really challenging. I love the challenge of it, but it is a brutal, backbreaking grind and I’m like,’Yeah, I can do that. Let’s go. I turn 60, let’s f**king go.’ Do you know what I mean? I get off on it, and so the more painful, the crawling, the smoke, the carnage, it’s really fun. And it’s not for everybody. I mean, believe me, I know plenty of actors who are like, “I’m not doing that.” But I love the results of it. I love how big it looks. It looks like a movie. Yeah, I think people are going to be blown away.”

The fifth season of 9-1-1: Lone Star, which could turn out to be the last, is currently in production. New episodes will arrive this fall following a delay due to last year’s industry strikes.
