It was difficult for me to reconcile the character’s humanity with the brutality of the crimes he was investigating.”

Patinkin’s departure from Criminal Minds after two seasons was a shock to fans, who had come to love his character. His performance was widely praised, and he earned an Emmy Award nomination for his work on the show.
