Savannah Chrisley Explains Why She’s Kept Her Relationship with Robert Shiver ‘Private’ Compared to Past Ones

The ‘Chrisley Knows Best’ alum shared the reason she’s keeping her relationship out of the public

Savannah Chrisley shared why she’s continuing to keep her relationship private.

The Chrisley Knows Best alum spoke about maintaining privacy around her relationship with Robert Shiver in the latest episode of her Unlocked podcast.

The 26-year-old podcaster explained she’s “kept [the relationship] quiet because it deserves that respect,” adding that there are “also kids involved that deserve that respect.”

In September 2023, PEOPLE broke the news that Chrisley is dating the former football player.

Chrisley spoke about recent photos of her and Shiver, 38, noting that some people speculated she “called paparazzi” on herself, which she vehemently denied. She shared that she believes the photos were taken “with ill intention” to “make [her] look like [she’s] this money-hungry gold digging, you know, whatever that’s trying to take someone’s kids.”

“Not me in the slightest,” she said. “And if I’m in a relationship with someone, it’s because I love that person.”

“I respect them. I respect what they stand for,” added Chrisley. “I respect the human being that they are; [it] has nothing to do with their finances.”

Chrisley also revealed that she’s kept the relationship private because Shiver has three children. “When it comes to kids, kids are the most innocent, amazing gifts to any human being known to man.”

“And I will never not show up for a child, so if a child is asking me to show up for them, I won’t even think twice about it,” she continued. “Like there will never be a time where I refuse to show up for a child. Whether that’s physically, emotionally, psychologically, monetarily, whatever it is, I will always show up.”

She added that she wants to “love” and “show up” for Shiver’s children, adding, “I’m going to do all these things, and that’s only because I love them. That’s the end of it. I love them.”

Shiver shares his three children with his ex-wife, Lindsay. In July 2023, Lindsay, her alleged boyfriend and an alleged proposed hitman were accused of plotting to kill Shiver.

Chrisley has also noted in her September 2023 The Viall Files podcast interview that she’s kept their relationship private in an effort to keep the details about the alleged murder plot private from the public and Shiver’s kids. She explained she will discuss the details when Shiver’s children are “ready to talk about it.”
