Below Deck season 11 stars Barbie Pascual and Ben Willoughby are feuding on Instagram, and other franchise alums have gotten involved. Both crew members have had interesting journeys on the reality series. Barbie has feuded with Chief Stew Fraser Olender, while Ben has stirred up drama in his “boatmance” with deckhand Marie “Sunny” Marquis. There have already been a few firings on Below Deck season 11, though Barbie and Ben have remained on the show as original crew members. Ben was notably promoted to Bosun after Jared Woodin was fired by Captain Kerry Titheradge.

Despite the stew and Bosun having a pretty good friendship on Below Deck season 11, Barbie and Ben have feuded on Instagram. They filmed the season quite some time ago, so it’s natural that their relationship may have progressed when the cameras were down. Barbie is good friends with Sunny, whom Ben has not treated the best throughout the season. Additionally, Barbie got involved with Ben’s deckhand and friend, Kyle Stillie. Ben may not approve of Barbie’s potential boatmance with Kyle, which may have contributed to their Instagram feud.

Barbie and Ben’s post-season feud started on Instagram in April. Ben posted two selfies with the stew on his Instagram, captioning the post, “Barbs!” From there, the conflict took off in the comments. Barbie refuted Ben’s post, writing, “You literally just dragged me last week on your story. Now ..you post me? Make it make sense.” She was confused as to why Ben would share a picture of them on her Instagram feed after seemingly throwing shade at her in his Stories. That was the beginning of their back-and-forth exchange that other Below Deck crew members commented on.

She Wasn’t The Only Below Deck Alum To Defend Barbie

Below Deck Mediterranean season 8 stew, Natalya Scudder supported Barbie in Ben’s comment section. “YESSSSS GIRL,” she replied to Barbie, seemingly hyping up her friend for calling out the Below Deck season 11 Bosun. From there, Natalya and Ben started going back and forth, and he told her to “get outta the comments” with a waving emoji, signaling her goodbye. They continued to take jabs at each other, and Ben even urged Natalya to “go try to make a leadership role again” on another season of Below Deck.

“You are so embarrassing online,” wrote Barbie. “Make it stop!”

Below Deck season 11 stew Paris Field even chimed in on the drama. She replied to Barbie’s comment, and wrote, “see what ‘chicks’ do to me.” Paris was referencing when Ben said “chicks” annoyingly in a confessional on Below Deck season 11. Ben didn’t respond to Paris’ reply, but the drama continued in the comment section. He said he would stop replying to Barbie after she “stop[s] blowing smoke up peoples ass who are blatantly bad people.” From there, the conversation died out, with Kyle urging Barbie and Ben to “get a grip” amid their conflict.

Captain Kerry Subtly Agreed
Does Captain Kerry Think Ben Was Out Of Line?

Captain Kerry quietly agreed with a comment critiquing Ben’s behavior in Below Deck season 11. Ben shared some pictures from a Christmas celebration they had on Below Deck season 11 where he was dressed as a reindeer. “Christmas in the Carribean tonight on @bravotv,” he wrote. In the comments, fans were calling him out for some of his comments on the April 29, 2024, episode. Reddit user @10268999 did some digging and saw that Captain Kerry was liking comments in the caption of another one of his Instagram posts.

One Instagram user called out Ben’s tendency to blame his women crew members for his behavior. “Respectfully asking you to stop blaming your choices ‘what’s wrong with the girls?’” the user wrote. “Please consider taking responsibility for your decisions, actions, and your challenges when it comes to self regulating,” they added. Captain Kerry liked this comment, seemingly agreeing that Ben needs to stop blaming women for his terrible behavior. The Captain didn’t explicitly say that he thought Ben was in the wrong, but his comment alluded to it.

Will Below Deck Season 11 Show Barbie & Ben Feuding?
The Stew & Bosun Are Fighting On Below Deck

Below Deck season 11 will not see Barbie and Ben address their Instagram feud unless they get a reunion episode. However, they fought on the show about their mutual friend, Kyle. Barbie and Kyle had been attracted to each other from the beginning of the charter season. Soon enough, they slept together, and Barbie was worried that this would embarrass her father when he watched the season back. She began distancing herself from Kyle, which upset him. Ben decided to take things into his own hands and confront Barbie about how she was treating Kyle.

Ben’s approach to talking with Barbie about Kyle was extremely heated. He started by asking her how her night was, then quickly pivoted to asking her, “How about Kyle?” Ben told Barbie that Kyle was upset and hesitant to talk to her since she ignored him; he was very defensive of Kyle. However, Ben should have let Kyle approach Barbie to discuss their relationship. There was no reason for Ben to get involved. Barbie pointed out that her “personal relationship with Kyle” wasn’t any of his business, though this only made Ben more upset and combative.

“It’s just disappointing that he’s been there for you the whole charter season so far, and now you’re pushing this kid aside. I mean, I get you have stuff going on, but are you even gonna chat to him?”

Barbie brought up how she hadn’t approached Ben about his boatmance with Sunny even though she’s good friends with the lead deckhand. As Sunny’s friend, she had been there for her while she was struggling with Ben. Barbie kept those relationships separate and told him she didn’t appreciate him trying to insert his opinion into her situation with Kyle. They finished the conversation with Barbie telling Ben to “sit the f*** down.” It wasn’t Ben’s responsibility to talk with Barbie about Kyle, but he did it anyway.

Barbie and Ben’s relationship started to sour in Below Deck season 11. Their Instagram feud has gotten out of control, and other notable Below Deck franchise alum have chimed in defense of the stewardess. Hopefully, they can get on the same page and rebuild their friendship one day.
