‘Below Deck’s Gary King Claims He’s Being Edited Out of ‘Sailing Yacht’ After Allegations
Gary King from Below Deck Sailing Yacht feels he is being sidelined from the show amidst some serious allegations against him.
On Monday, October 14, King took to Instagram to express his frustration after viewing a screener of the latest episode of season five, revealing that much of his content had been cut.
“Sad to see this has all been edited out of tonight’s episode. Scary how one person’s lies can ruin someone’s career and livelihood,” King declared, referring to the sexual harassment accusations made prior to the season’s premiere on Bravo. He added, “Oh well, my head is held high as I know the truth. Karma will get ya, anyways.”
The 36-year-old went on to predict that his presence in future episodes would continue to dwindle, saying, “Seeing as most of me will probably be edited out of this season 😢 I will try to post as much as possible to show you all what you’re missing out on 🤗.”
Fans were quick to comment on the post, which currently has hundreds of comments. “Sounds like you can start to reveal all the secrets and BTS facts please Gary!!! We need to hear the truth!” noted one fan who is on King’s side. Another stated, “Gary… I am so sorry. I’ve always enjoyed the seasons when you’re on. Be true to yourself and make your mother proud.”
Many brought up King’s drinking on the show, with one fan commenting, “Having watched every season you are a completely different person drinking vs sober. ” Another similarly said, “Sober Gary vs drunk Gary are two diff animals. I’d consider sobriety. Don’t think you realize how aggressive you are when drunk.”
Before the current season debuted on October 6, King hinted on social media about returning to reality TV, although his future with the network was uncertain after a production assistant accused him of making unwanted sexual advances during filming. In an exposé for Rolling Stone published in October 2023, Samantha Suarez (along with 4 other anonymous employees) detailed her alleged interactions with the reality TV star and claimed that Bravo had attempted to cover up his inappropriate behavior.
Suarez claimed that after King got intoxicated, she stayed in his hotel room, where he allegedly attempted to prevent her from leaving. After she reported the incident, producers instructed King to stay on the boat during non-filming days to minimize contact with the crew.
Bravo responded to the allegations, emphasizing their commitment to a safe working environment for all cast and crew. “The concerns Ms. Suarez raised in July 2022 were investigated at that time, and action was taken based on the findings.” Despite the scandal, King maintained his innocence and expressed hurt over the allegations.
Bravo has not commented on King’s claims that he is being edited out of the show.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 airs on Bravo on Mondays at 9 p.m. E.T.
