Aesha Scott Reveals She Got a “Very Intense” Cosmetic Procedure: See Before & After Photos
Aesha Scott just got a whole new look.
On October 7, the Below Deck Mediterranean cast member took to her Instagram Stories to reveal she got lip blushing, a cosmetic procedure that temporarily adds color to her lips.
“I am so excited today! Guess what I’m doing? I’m going to get lip blush done! I’m getting my lips tattooed,” Aesha shared in the video of herself sitting in the car before heading into a facility for the procedure. “My lips…they’ve just been something that’s annoyed me for so, so long. As you guys know, my whole life I’ve gotten cold sores […] and because of that, I just have a very undefined lip line.”
Aesha added that her lips were something she’d “never loved,” prompting her to touch them up a bit. “I just thought, ‘You know what? There is something I can do about this. Why don’t I go get something fun done that will make me love my lips so much more.”
The chief stew then shared a photo of herself before the lip blushing, writing, “Drew the lines on and got me ready to go!” as she reclined with a white powder over her lips.
Following the procedure, Aesha gave a look at the new look: a bolder — yet still subtle — more colorful lip.
“How effing nice does that look!” Aesha gushed about her new lips. “I am so into it! I’m so, so, SO happy!”
Aesha was sure to note the color would fade a bit over time. “When you first get it done it’s very intense. It’s not gonna be like this in the end,” she explained. “What you gotta do is wait and in about four or five days, I think, all your lips, like peel off. Then you gotta wait for all the pigment to come through. So, after five weeks it’s gonna be the actual color it’s gonna be.”
What is lip blushing?
According to WebMD, lip blushing is a semi-permanant tattoo applied to the lips with a natural color. The technician creates “small cuts in the lip” to then “deposit the colored ink into the cuts.” The process lasts for up to two years and costs range from $500 to $1,500.
Aesha Scott reflects on her lip blushing procedure
“It’s always tricky sharing something like this when you got a platform because I don’t want anyone thinking, ‘Oh! Maybe I should go get lip blushing done,” Aesha shared. “You absolutely shouldn’t! I don’t want people to suddenly get self-conscious about their lips and think, ‘Oh maybe I should get something done.'”
Aesha continued by noting how there are sometimes just “little things” one wants to change. “I’m purely doing this just for me,” she clarified. “It’s not like I’m super self-conscious. I’m lucky that I’ve got a very good self-esteem, I don’t really get self-conscious or anything. But it was just one of those little things that I’ve always noticed and I was finally like, ‘You know what? There’s actually something that I can do about this and it will make me feel so stoked and so happy.'”
