The Mustique’s crew has received a lot of criticism for their performance, including Chef Johnathan Shillingford’s questionable cooking skills and Bosun Iain Maclean’s poor management. Meanwhile, a romantic rivalry emerged between Bri and Second Stew Elena “Ellie” Dubaich when they both set their sights on Deckhand Joe Bradley. As the feud’s impacting Chief Stew Aesha Scott. Bri’s Sheltered Upbringing Left Her Ill-Prepared For Housekeeping Duties

Bri’s Battle With Laundry Has Plagued Her All Season

A Looming Love Triangle Could Ruin Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9

Bri’s role as third stew leaves her responsible for the yacht’s laundry and other housekeeping duties. Unfortunately, Bri found herself struggling in the very first charter. She was unfamiliar with the laundry equipment, and the guests’ and crew’s clothing was frequently misplaced. Ellie called Bri’s experience into question and wondered if she was capable of handling her responsibilities. Meanwhile, Sandy became frustrated with Bri when her own laundry was discolored or lost.

Bri admitted that she grew up in a sheltered environment. There were maids who did her laundry, and her parents spoiled her, so she was able to avoid adult responsibilities. As Bri struggles to stay afloat on the Mustique, her future seems uncertain. Paired with her inexperience, Bri’s upbringing makes her an unlikely addition to the high-pressure environment on the yacht.

Bri and Ellie’s working relationship got off to a promising start. Ellie took Bri under her wing, carefully teaching her how to efficiently clean the guest cabins and offering pointers on staying organized. The cabinmates worked well together and were building a friendship. However, once they both started to pursue Joe, their teamwork rapidly deteriorated. They treated each other passive-aggressively, and Ellie no longer offered Bri her support.

Furthermore, Ellie started to put down Bri to her coworkers. She told Aesha about a notebook she found in the laundry room, accusing Bri of keeping a “burn book” to log Ellie’s mistakes. While Bri attempted to keep her frustration to herself, she grew noticeably emotional, and her work suffered. Ellie further fueled the flames by condescendingly commenting on Bri’s “meltdowns.”

Bri reached a breaking point when Ellie left her responsible for an excessive amount of work. Ellie took a break without having cleaned any of the guest cabins just before the guests were set to return to the Mustique. Bri was understandably frustrated and exhausted. She began cleaning frantically while Ellie berated her for being disrespectful. Ellie antagonized Bri, reminding her of the hierarchy of the crew and claiming she was Bri’s superior.

However, Bri showed her resilience by continuing to work while Ellie had her outburst. She asked Ellie to leave her alone so she could finish cleaning the cabins – however, Ellie wouldn’t back off. Bri was close to breaking down, but when she encountered Captain Sandy, she asked that they discuss it later to avoid getting upset in front of the guests. Bri asked Sandy to handle the guests so she could take a moment to regroup, showing that Bri knows how to prioritize the guests’ comfort.

Sandy Showed Faith In Bri

Sandy Was Surprisingly Supportive Of Bri

In spite of Bri’s floundering performance, Sandy maintained her support of Bri and swore that she wouldn’t give up on her. Sandy remembered the early days of her career, when someone took a chance on her. Bri has shown significant improvement since starting the season, and Sandy wanted to support Bri’s progress as an employee. Sandy offered encouragement, reminding Bri that she could choose how to respond. She told her to control her emotions by remaining confident.

Unfortunately, Sandy’s tune may change as Bri and Ellie’s fight escalates. When Sandy called a meeting between the stews, she was irritated by Bri’s inability to stop talking negatively to Ellie. Sandy offered the ultimatum that if Bri and Ellie could not find a resolution, they would both be fired. Bri responded that they had attempted to make peace before, and it was simply not possible.

Bri has shown tremendous growth throughout Below Deck Mediterranean season 9. She put meticulous effort into improving her organizational skills, and she prioritized the guests’ needs over her own. Bri’s performance is strong enough to sustain her throughout the season, leaving her personal drama the only threat to her success.
