Below Deck’s Captain Lee reveals explosive moment which ended friendship with Carl Radke
Below Deck legend Captain Lee Rosbach had a good friendship with Summer House’s Carl Radke before he had a go at his fellow Bravo reality star.
Below Deck’s Captain Lee has opened up on when Bravo’s Carl Radke “went off” at him over a podcast interview.
Summer House star Carl Radke was in a three-year relationship with Lindsay Hubbard and popped the question back in 2022.
But a year after the proposal, the 39-year-old broke off their engagement with Lindsay stating that he had “completely blindsided” her.
Last week, during an episode of the podcast Salty With Captain Lee, the Below Deck star talked of how his friendship with Radke blew up when he invited him to appear on the show following his split from Lindsay.
“Carl and I used to be close and I gave Carl an opportunity to be on the podcast and tell it as he saw it”, the 74-year-old said.
“There was a question he wanted taken off. We took it off. There was something he didn’t want to answer, we didn’t put him on the spot. We didn’t hang him out to dry.”
Captain Lee insisted that he “would never have done something intentionally to put Carl on the spot” but after the episode was teased in November, Radkey “demanded” for the show not to be aired.
He continued: “I got a phone call from Carl and he just went off how I was taking advantage of him and trying to put him on the spot.
“I was blown away. I don’t know what made him go off the way he went off or why he thought what he was thinking. I really don’t have a clue to what he was thinking.”
The Below Deck icon went on to state that it “bothers” him as he was trying to give Carl the space to put his side of the story out there.
“I wanted to give him that opportunity. And then to be slapped around for it didn’t sit well with me.”
Captain Lee and Radke grew close over both of them losing family members to addiction.
While Radke’s brother died of a heroin overdose, the Below Deck star lost his son Joshua to fentanyl poisoning. Radke’s podcast never fully aired after his dispute with Captain Lee but some snippets had previously aired as a teaser.
Radke had said on the episode that he felt “really bad” about his engagement to Lindsay ending.
“It’s been scary. It’s been confusing. It’s been emotional. And I feel really bad with how everything ultimately played out.”
He added that if he “could go back and make something a little bit easier or better, I would.”
