‘Below Deck’ Season 12 began filming before Season 11 was even over.
Each season of the Bravo series Below Deck features a new location and sometimes new crew here to stir up drama while sailing the high seas. And after Season 11’s ups and downs and introduction of a new captain to replace the beloved Captain Lee Rosbach, fans are ready to learn all about the twelfth season.
Or, more importantly, where Below Deck Season 12 was filmed and even when filming resumed for the show following Season 11. Of course, the good news is that there is a Season 12 at all, and that, according to some clever internet sleuths, filming for the season was spotted before the Season 11 finale aired. Where was ‘Below Deck’ Season 12 filmed?
According to some eagle-eyed fans on reddit, Season 12 of Below Deck was filmed in St. Maarten. In a post from April 2024, you can see the St. David superyacht moving near the Simpson Bay Bridge in St. Maarten. You can even see Captain Kerry Titheradge waving at fans, which means he is slated to return for another season on the flagship Below Deck series.
Dedicated fans might remember that this isn’t the first time a captain and crew set sail to this particular location, though. Way back in Season 1 of Below Deck, Captain Lee led the crew in charters in the same area. Now, for Season 12 of Below Deck, we’re back on the East Caribbean island.
But one thing you probably won’t see again on the show is Captain Lee. In April 2023, he told the South Florida Sun Sentinel that Bravo hadn’t asked him back after Season 10.

“I did not quit. I did not retire. I was just not invited back,” he told the outlet. “I guess I can see their point of view. They really couldn’t get a straight answer from anyone on how my health was.”
Luckily, Captain Lee isn’t totally gone from television. He’s the host of Oxygen’s true crime series Deadly Waters with Captain Lee, and with a title like that, we can’t imagine Captain lee could be easily replaced on that show.
Fans might be surprised about when Season 12 of ‘Below Deck’ was filmed.
Season 11’s finale aired on May 27, 2024. But apparently, prior to that, filming had already begun for the proceeding season. If the reddit post is accurate and the St. David was already hosting charters in St. Maarten at the time of the reddit post, then filming for Season 12 was well underway in April 2024.
With the way Season 11 played out, and when it premiered and ended, if Season 12 follows a similar schedule, then we know what to expect in terms of when the season premieres, which would be in early 2025. Maybe that’s not what some Below Deck fans had hoped for, but with other series in the franchise, like Below Deck Mediterranean, coming back in the meantime, there should be enough Below Deck on Bravo to tide fans over.
