9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5’s Returning Star Is Owen’s Final Chance At Love

With only seven episodes to go, 9-1-1: Lone Star season 5, episode 5, “Thunderstruck,” brings back one character who, in retrospect, could be the perfect person for Owen. The Fox procedural drama TV show created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear follows the personal and work lives of first responders in Austin, Texas. More specifically, 9-1-1: Lone Star heavily revolves around Station 126, a firehouse led by Rob Lowe’s Owen, a firefighter captain.

Owen moved from New York City to Austin with his son, TK, at the start of 9-1-1: Lone Star. While Owen has been a great captain, friend, and father, he has also been unlucky in love for almost the whole series. His relationship with Gwyn Morgan had been a rollercoaster for years, even before the show began, and when she died, Owen was crushed. All his other relationships or potential ones have also been unsuccessful. So, with 9-1-1: Lone Star ending after season 5, there is little time for Owen to meet his match (if romance is still in the cards for him).

Robyn Lively Returns As Marlene In 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5

Marlene Is Wyatt’s Mother

Robyn Lively reprises her role as Marlene Harris in the cast of 9-1-1: Lone Star season 5. Marlene was first introduced at the beginning of season 3 when her son, Wyatt Harris, approached Judd Ryder at Station 126 claiming that Judd was his father. A couple of decades prior, Judd and Marlene had a one-night stand, and Marlene gave birth to Wyatt. Since then, Judd has been getting to know his son, and Lively has appeared in a handful of other episodes. Now, the actress has a recurring role in season 5 and her next storyline involves Owen.

In 9-1-1: Lone Star season 5, episode 5, Owen cares for an unruly horse, Thunder, whom he comes to meet during a call. Judd brings Owen to Marlene at the end of the hour so that she can help him tame the animal. During Owen and Marlene’s brief exchange, it seems as if they’re flirting, and their chemistry is undeniable. Yes, Marlene might have had a fiancé in past episodes (played by Lively’s real-life husband, Bart Johnson). Perhaps her situation has changed, though, and Marlene is single and open to dating.
